ROC FITNESS CLUB was born from a simple belief: every person in Kathmandu deserves access to world-class fitness coaching and facilities — not just elite athletes.
The Beginning
How ROC Started
ROC FITNESS CLUB opened its doors in Tinkune, Kathmandu with one goal: to create a fitness environment that matched the best gyms in Asia — in equipment, in coaching quality, and in culture. Founder Sujan Shrestha had trained in gyms across Kathmandu for over a decade and seen the same story repeated: talented, motivated people let down by poor facilities and unqualified instructors.
He assembled a founding team of certified coaches — each specialist in their discipline — and built ROC from the ground up around one principle: evidence-based training delivered by coaches who genuinely care about the people they serve. The name ROC is derived from Royal Ocean Cafe — a name that has carried the spirit of the brand from day one.
Today, ROC FITNESS CLUB is home to over 5000 members ranging from complete beginners to national athletes, and our team of 15+ certified coaches delivers 20+ distinct programmes every week. We're proud to be the gym that Kathmandu's most committed fitness community calls home.

Sujan Shrestha is the founder of ROC FITNESS CLUB and the driving force behind everything the gym stands for. With over a decade of experience in the fitness industry across Kathmandu, he turned a vision of world-class training into Nepal's most complete gym.
Under his leadership, ROC has grown from a single location in Tinkune to two branches — with 5000+ members, 15+ certified coaches, and a reputation built entirely on results.

Ram Shrestha
Strength & Powerlifting
Ram is the head coach and driving force behind ROC FITNESS CLUB's strength programme. With over 5 years of experience in elite strength training and powerlifting, Ram has competed at the national level and coached athletes who have gone on to represent Nepal in national competitions.His programming philosophy is built on progressive overload, technical precision, and sustainable habit formation — whether you're a first-time gym-goer or chasing a competition total. Ram leads the gym and cardio floor, oversees all strength programming, and personally mentors every new member through their foundational training phase.

Sanjip Rai
Fitness Trainer – Calisthenics & Personal Training
Sanjip Rai is one of Nepal's most recognised fitness personalities — a Himalaya Roadies Season 5 winner whose athleticism, grit, and competitive spirit captivated the nation. At ROC FITNESS CLUB he channels that same drive into coaching, specialising in calisthenics, boxing, and personal training. His calisthenics sessions build real bodyweight strength — from foundational movement patterns to advanced skills like muscle-ups and handstands — while his boxing classes blend technique with high-intensity conditioning. As a personal trainer, Sanjip creates goal-driven programmes that challenge every client to discover what they are truly capable of. Certified Fitness Trainer – EQF Level 4
Sameer Syangtan is a certified fitness trainer holding the European Qualifications Framework Level 4 — one of the highest internationally recognised fitness credentials. At ROC FITNESS CLUB Tinkune, Sameer brings a structured, science-backed approach to every session, designing programmes that combine functional movement, progressive strength training, and sustainable lifestyle habits. His methodical coaching style ensures members at every level build a solid foundation, stay injury-free, and see consistent, measurable progress over time.

Roshani Chand is one of Nepal's most inspiring fitness personalities — crowned Miss Globe Nepal 2023, she brings the same discipline, dedication, and presence to the gym floor that took her to the international stage. As ROC FITNESS CLUB's female personal trainer, Roshani creates a welcoming and empowering environment for every woman who walks through the doors. Her training approach combines progressive strength work, functional movement, and sustainable lifestyle habits — helping clients build confidence and real results from the very first session.
