Our Story
Built for Kathmandu. Built to Last.
ROC FITNESS CLUB was born from a simple belief: every person in Kathmandu deserves access to world-class fitness coaching and facilities — not just elite athletes.
The Beginning
How ROC Started
ROC FITNESS CLUB opened its doors in Tinkune, Kathmandu with one goal: to create a fitness environment that matched the best gyms in Asia — in equipment, in coaching quality, and in culture. Founder Sujan Shrestha had trained in gyms across Kathmandu for over a decade and seen the same story repeated: talented, motivated people let down by poor facilities and unqualified instructors.
He assembled a founding team of certified coaches — each specialist in their discipline — and built ROC from the ground up around one principle: evidence-based training delivered by coaches who genuinely care about the people they serve. The name ROC stands for Results, Opportunity, Community — the three pillars that have guided every decision since day one.
Today, ROC FITNESS CLUB is home to over 500 active members ranging from complete beginners to national athletes, and our team of 15+ certified coaches delivers 20+ distinct programmes every week. We're proud to be the gym that Kathmandu's most committed fitness community calls home.

The Man Behind ROC
Sujan
Shrestha
"I built ROC because I believed Kathmandu deserved better — better equipment, better coaching, and a community that actually cares. Every member who walks through our doors proves that belief right."
Sujan Shrestha is the founder of ROC FITNESS CLUB and the driving force behind everything the gym stands for. With over a decade of experience in the fitness industry across Kathmandu, he turned a vision of world-class training into Nepal's most complete gym.
Under his leadership, ROC has grown from a single location in Tinkune to two branches — with 500+ active members, 15+ certified coaches, and a reputation built entirely on results.

Our Vision
To be Nepal's most trusted fitness institution — a place where the standard of coaching, community, and results consistently rivals the best gyms in South Asia, and where every member feels seen, supported, and challenged to exceed their own expectations.
What We Stand For
Our Core Values
Three principles guide every decision at ROC — from how we design programmes to how we hire coaches and build community.
Results-Driven
We measure our success by yours. Every programme, every session, and every coaching decision is made with one question in mind: will this get our members closer to their goal? We use evidence-based methods, track progress rigorously, and adjust relentlessly.
Community First
A gym is only as strong as the community it builds. At ROC, we foster an environment of encouragement, accountability, and genuine human connection. From your first session, you're part of a family that celebrates every personal record and supports you through every setback.
Expert Standards
We hold ourselves to the highest professional standards in fitness coaching. Every ROC trainer holds recognised national or international certifications, participates in ongoing education, and adheres to the code of ethics set by their certifying bodies.
Credentials
Our Certifications
Every ROC coach holds recognised professional certifications. We don't cut corners on expertise.
The Team
Meet Our Coaches
Six certified specialists united by a shared passion for transforming lives through fitness.
Ram Shrestha
Head Coach – Strength & Powerlifting
Ram is the head coach and driving force behind ROC FITNESS CLUB's strength programme. With over 10 years of experience in elite strength training and powerlifting, Ram has competed at the national level and coached athletes who have gone on to represent Nepal in South Asian competitions. His programming philosophy is built on progressive overload, technical precision, and sustainable habit formation — whether you're a first-time gym-goer or chasing a competition total. Ram leads the gym and cardio floor, oversees all strength programming, and personally mentors every new member through their foundational training phase.
Sanjip Rai
Boxing & Personal Training Coach
Sanjip is one of Kathmandu's most exciting boxing coaches, combining a professional fight background with a natural gift for instruction. He competed in amateur boxing for eight years before transitioning into full-time coaching, and brings both the technical depth of a seasoned fighter and the patience of a dedicated teacher to every session. Sanjip's boxing classes are known for being high-energy, technically rigorous, and accessible to complete beginners. As a personal trainer, he specialises in building functional fitness, fight conditioning, and total-body strength — creating programmes that are challenging, measurable, and genuinely fun.
Roshani Chand
Nutritional Coach & Personal Trainer
Roshani is ROC FITNESS CLUB's resident nutrition expert and personal trainer, bringing an evidence-based, compassionate approach to every client she works with. With a background in sports nutrition science and years of hands-on coaching experience, she has helped hundreds of members in Kathmandu achieve sustainable fat loss, build lean muscle, and develop a healthier relationship with food. Roshani's nutrition plans are built around real Nepali food culture — no crash diets, no impossible meal preps, just practical strategies that work for everyday life. Her personal training sessions integrate movement, recovery, and nutrition into a complete lifestyle programme.
